Important Reminders – Whitman Sports Physicals & Baseline Concussion Testing Saturday, June 2
If you have scheduled a sports physical and/or concussion testing for Saturday, June 2 please read these important reminders:
- Please arrive 15 min before your appointment to check in for either the concussion testing or sports physical.
- There is a modest $40 charge for the sports physical payable by cash or check. Checks may be made payable to Walt Whitman Sports Boosters.
- There is no charge for concussion testing.
- Prior to arriving, please complete and bring your “pre participation physical evaluation for athletics” for the sports physical or the “consent form” for baseline concussion testing.

Other important information:
The sports physical and concussion testing is offered by the Walt Whitman Sports Boosters as a convenience to all Walt Whitman high school athletes – rising freshmen (8th graders at Pyle) and rising Seniors (Juniors at Whitman). Sports physicals can also be obtained through the student athlete’s personal health care provider.
The cost of the sports physical is $40 (please pay by cash or check – made payable to Walt Whitman Sports Boosters) and all proceeds go to the All Sports Booster Club. The sports physical will clear a student athlete for ALL ATHLETIC ACTIVITIES during the entire school year. It is a screening exam and is not meant to be a substitute for a full annual examination. If any problems are detected during the screening the student athlete will be referred to his or her family physician.
There is no fee for baseline concussion testing. The baseline concussion testing must be done before participating in any sport and is needed every two years. Generally rising freshmen and rising juniors need the baseline concussion testing. If a student misses the concussion testing on June 2 there will be other opportunities as coaches must offer the concussion testing prior to sports tryouts. Speak to your coach about testing opportunities.
