A new session with 10 slots has been added at 8 am for sports physicals along with 2 slots each 10 minute increment up through 11:30 am.

Concussion Testing

Important Information
As a reminder, the sports physicals and concussion testing is offered Saturday morning, June 2 by the Walt Whitman Sports Boosters as a convenience to all Walt Whitman high school athletes – rising Freshmen (8th graders at Pyle) and rising Seniors (Juniors at Whitman). Sports physicals can also be obtained through the student athlete’s personal physician.
The cost of the sports physical is $40 (please pay by cash or check) and all proceeds go to the All Sports Booster Club. The sports physical will clear a student athlete for ALL ATHLETIC ACTIVITIES during the entire school year. It is a screening exam and is not meant to be a substitute for a full annual examination. If any problems are detected during the screening the student athlete will be referred to his or her family physician.
There is no fee for baseline concussion testing. The baseline concussion testing must be done before participating in any sport and is needed every two years. Generally rising freshmen and rising juniors need the baseline concussion testing. If a student misses the concussion testing on June 2 there will be other opportunities as coaches must offer the concussion testing prior to sports tryouts. Speak to your coach about testing opportunities.
Both the sports physical and concussion testing can be done on the same morning, but please allow at least an hour between each appointment.
