This is our last ever PyleNet email! If you missed our previous emails regarding Pyle's transition away from PyleNet or would like more information about our NEW Pyle AtoZConnect listserve, please read below:
If you now have a Whitman student, please subscribe to WhitNet - Walt Whitman High School's official listserve. The directions on how to join WhitNet are at the bottom of this email.
If you are still a parent of a Pyle student or a Pyle teacher/staff member, please read the following:
PyleNet is now extinct! We used PyleNet (our former yahoogroups listserve) for 20 years; therefore, it was time to upgrade! Pyle AtoZConnect has replaced PyleNet for all of our whole-school or grade-level Pyle email communications. There are many benefits to Pyle AtoZConnect:
- Pyle AtoZConnect is also our Pyle Directory database; therefore, all parents automatically receive emails if their email addresses were in our Pyle Directory last year.
- All of Pyle's feeder elementary schools (Bannockburn, Bradley Hills, Burning Tree, Carderock Springs, and Wood Acres) use AtoZConnect also; therefore, AtoZConnect has already uploaded our incoming 6th grade families' contact info into our Pyle database.
- All Pyle teachers were also uploaded into the Pyle AtoZConnect database.
- Pyle AtoZConnect provides an online store where you can pay your annual PTSA membership dues, buy extra printed Directories, and make donations to our PTSA!
- Last year, we did a trial year with AtoZConnect emails and they worked well. Also, Carderock switched to AtoZConnect last year for emails and their community loves it.
- All Pyle PTSA members and teachers can access our Pyle Directory anytime via www.AtoZConnect.com or the AtoZConnect App.
- Parents and teachers can update their own email preferences and/or contact info at any time.
- We can now send "grade-specific" emails.
How to receive Pyle AtoZConnect emails:
- If you are already receiving the AtoZConnect emails, then you're set! You should see " Pyle AtoZConnect" as the sender.
- You must be a current Pyle parent, teacher, or staff member in order to join our new listserve.
- If you are NOT receiving them and are a current Pyle parent, teacher, or staff member; then follow these directions to create an AtoZConnect account:
- Go to https://atozconnect.com/cls
/login.php - Click "SignUp Now" at the bottom.
- You can find Pyle Middle School by entering "20817" in the "School Zip Code" field.
- Follow the prompts!
How to send a Pyle AtoZConnect email to all of our Pyle parents and teachers (or to a specific grade):
If you are a Pyle teacher, administrator, or PTSA/Foundation volunteer, you may post informational emails to our Pyle parents and teachers via AtoZConnect by sending the emails to "PyleAtoZConnect@gmail.com." Please include a descriptive subject line, detailed text (who, what, when, where, why, how) and include your name and email address at the bottom for questions. If you would like to send it to a specific grade level, please indicate this in your email. We will post the email within 24 hours of receipt.
Pyle Community Announcements: Like last year, every Monday, we will bundle community-related emails into one Community Announcements email.

Directions on how to join Whitnet (Whitman High School's official listserve)
Whitnet is the Whitman PTSA's moderated e-mail network for parents/guardians, staff and interested students of Walt Whitman High School. Please note that Whitnet is not a "discussion board"; it is reserved for official PTSA and school related announcements.
How to Join Whitnet if you have a student at Whitman (and if you have not yet joined)
To subscribe, go to http://groups.yahoo.com/gro
· Student's name(s) and grade(s)
· Parent's name
Whitman faculty and staff should provide their Name and Department. Students are also permitted to subscribe.
Once you are approved for membership, you will receive a message to your email account. This will take a day or two.
If you would like to change how often you receive Whitnet notifications (daily digest or individual emails), click "Membership", then "Edit Membership". Click on the Edit (pencil) icon next to "Subscription" and change settings.
If you have questions or problems, please email the subscription moderator at whitnetmoderator@gmail.com. Please note that moderators can no longer subscribe persons directly. You have to follow this process on the Yahoogroups web site.
How to Post to Whitnet:
To post to Whitnet, write the message in the body of the email, and sign with your name and your affiliation to the committee/team/subject that you are posting about. Send to whitnet@yahoogroups.com. Attachments cannot be posted.
