Walt Whitman High School's acclaimed drama program presents "Jesus Christ Superstar" tonight at 7 in the school's auditorium, with additional performances tomorrow and Saturday, same time, same place.
Whitman's innovative production examines the boundary-breaking Andrew Lloyd Weber/Tim Rice rock opera through a contemporary lens, giving its eternal social and political themes a particularly timely resonance. As a bonus, an interfaith panel and Director Christopher Gerken will discuss the theological and historical context of the musical following Friday night's performance.
